Unity Homes and Our Response to Covid-19
The safety and wellbeing of our residents and staff is always our highest priority at all of our care homes.
What Unity Homes are Doing to Prevent the Spread of the Coronavirus?
We have been working hard since the start of 2020 to prepare for the impact that a wider outbreak of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) could have here in the UK.
As health authorities have made it clear that this particular virus presents a high risk to older people and to those individuals with pre-existing medical conditions, we are taking extra precautionary measures to ensure that our residents and staff are protected as much as possible.
Below are the steps all of our care homes are taking:
Robust deep cleaning and infection control processes.
Fully stocked medical supplies and PPE equipment.
Complete testing
programme in all of our care homes.
Urgent updates are published on our homes’ Facebook pages.
Everything is kept disinfected and residents mix in small, socially distanced groups.
Pre-bookable, socially distanced visiting options and calls with loved ones.
Staff help with all sorts of activities safely and within Covid-19 guidelines.
Front-line staff receive full training and continuous communications.
Non-invasive thermometers in reception areas to monitor the temperature of all staff and visitors.
Families and friends are advised to not visit, if they have signs/symptoms of the virus.
On-hand professionals to advise and support both residents and families.
Developing plans that go beyond the standard advice from Public Health England.
